Q/A - Holiday Hair

One of my friends on Facebook just messaged me -

"Hi, I was wondering if you could give me some advice. My hair has been over highlighted and i think it's too blonde for my skin colour. I want to tone in down before I go on holiday in a couple of weeks. What do you suggest I do"

- Here is my reply.

HI hon, I think the best thing to do would be to treat it to an all over DEMI permanent colour -

As your hair will proably be porus after the bleaching and hillighting we dont want to damage it any further with a strong permanent colour (that will probably fade anyway on holiday).

Demi is ammonia free and will condition your hair. We can select the perfect shade for you and then take a subtle, half step down.
This way, as it fades it will evolve into a sunkist, multi-tonal blonde. If you like the colour, after your hols you can have it coloured permanantly.
Right now it is important to care for your hair.

Full head of Demi is just £32 with our fantastic stylist Shannon.

Give us a call on 01789299744 tomorrow and we can arrange an appointment to suit you. x

Holiday Hair

Keep your hair at its best if you are off in search of the sun this summer. Here are some tips.

- Remember, the sun can damage your hair. A pretty simple rule is, 'if you have to protect your skin, protect your hair.'
Although hair care products do not carry a specific 'spf' (sun protection factor) as skincare products do, you can now buy products with UV protection. We love the Bondi 'Beach Babe' leave in conditioner with sunscreeen. Sadly this will be the last summer you can buy this product as it has been discontinued. (shame.) I think we are down to our last three bottles!

- Top tip number 2 is wet your hair.
Before you get into the pool or the sea, wet your hair down with a bit of bottled water. Your hair, at the cortex, can act like a sponge. It is better to fill it with pure water as this will prevent it from soaking up chlorine from the pool.

- Braid it / plait it
A scalp plait or braided hair is less likely to be dried out or to be affected by the humidity in hot climates.

- Cover up!
Wearing a hat or silk scarf is the most certain way to prevent a halo of frazzle developing across your halo of highlights.

- Condition and care.
After a long day in the sun, give your hair a treat! Come into the salon for a dose of our 'miracle' treatment, L'Oreal Fiberceutic 'Botox for the hair.' At just £15 this will rejuvinate horrid holiday hair in minutes, leaving it silky smooth. We also stock a range of masks, creams and treatments you can enjoy at home.

Avril Lavigne Shave shame

Avril Lavigne has been pictured with a shaved panel in her head. What a shame. She looks pretty gaunt as well. Too much rock and roll young lady? Don't go all Winehouse on us, Avril.

Avril Lavigne shaved head hair. Hmm.

She has been prone to the hollywood extensions craze. Maybe her hair has been damaged at the sides and back like Jennifer Aniston and Posh. (see previous post on extensions here)

K-Pop

'K-pop' (Korean pop music) has begun to develop a global following. Whilst the modern, highly styled and fashion concious music genre has developed a cult following since the late '90s amongst pockets of western audiences, when 'Girls Generation' appeared on 'Letterman' back in January it marked a breakthrough in the global market for K-pop. Like western pop, K-pop is a high trend, high fashion culture. Here are a few of the coolest hair trends from South Korea.
